I should probably ask this in a Zotero forum, but: is it possible to constrain the field values in Zotero, perhaps within a Zotero group? Let's say that I wanted all entries in a library to use keywords from a list – is that possible?

Hi Stéfan,
I asked a similar question a little while ago over at the Zotero forums, but maybe you'll get a wider range of answers here. In any case, I've noticed this question popping up a few times in conversation with researchers, so it seems like it might be a good candidate for a new feature.

This is one of the key data curation issues that Zotero has right now, and it's ripe for treatment by a Zotero plugin. Zotero provides a solid back-end for the data, and a mature model. It still wouldn't be possible to enforce a vocabulary server-side for a group, but having a client-side plugin to manage vocabularies would be a great help. I would be thrilled to work with other interested people to make this happen in the next year or so.

Thanks for your replies. I think what I might do for now is to use Google Forms or some such thing to add entries (collaboratively) and then figure out an import mechanism.
