Any recommendations for a speaker for our annual lecture series? Looking for a digital historian, possibly with emphasis on geospatial history, or material/cultural history, with a solid DH pedigree (the committee favours traditionally plump CVs). We'd love to find someone who would generate some DH enthusiasm among those who are...umm...new to the DH idea.
Digital history speaker recommendation?

What about Peter Bol? http://scholar.harvard.edu/pkbol/ He chairs Harvard's Digital Humanities Working Group and has an active & established interest in GIS, Chinese History and DH research infrastructures.

Anne Whisnant, http://history.unc.edu/people/adjunct-and-visiting-faculty/anne-whisnant, http://www.linkedin.com/pub/anne-mitchell-whisnant/7/147/1b7 is an excellent speaker on these topics. She's #alt-ac (#altac), to boot. My library department has worked with her over the last few years to produce this DH project: http://docsouth.unc.edu/blueridgeparkway/.
