I'm wondering if anyone has a Digital Humanities reading list compiled for PhD prelim exams that they'd be willing to share. I'm not looking for a syllabus, although that's helpful, but a "canon" reading list -- preferably from an English PhD student, with a focus on text and literary analysis.

I'm not sure if you'll find my conceptual lists useful, but I'm happy to share. I'm a PhD in English (c18 Brit Lit and Romantic poetry) and I approached the digital humanities through editorial theory and scholarly editing, with some textual criticism and media history thrown in. Might not be exactly what you're looking for, but here it is! I posted it here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/454464/LEE2009conceptual.doc

My third exam area was a textual studies/DH sort of thing; this list is a bit narrow based on my own book history-related interests, but here's a Google Doc.

Here is the reading list for UCSB's Literature and Theory of Technology/Media/Information first qualifying exam: http://www.english.ucsb.edu/grad/handbook/reading_list_11.asp.
It's a great summary of relevant reading. Hope it helps!

Hi! I wasn't in an English department, but did do some literary studies for my PhD. I don't actually have a preilm reading list (long story), but here's my bibliography.
