Visual mapping of keywords, synonyms, & antonyms in text?

As part of my intellectual process I digitize (scan/OCR) all textual documents of use in my research and compile them into a focused text database which I mine using boolean searches and regular expressions.

Over the course of five years I have accumulated over 1.0 GB of plain text comprised of over 7,000 full-text documents all of which are related to my specialization: Posthuman Studies.

Specifically, what I'm looking for is a stand-alone visual mapping tool that can spatially link key terms, their synonyms and antonyms, etc., in real-time for my entire text database of 7,000 items.

I'm guessing this isn't quite what you're after but here's a site that pulls a number of software packages that "support knowledge management and information organisation in graphical form." Perhaps something here will help.

When I need a 'keyword visualization" (for example, to put in a presentation) I use the Mac-only package DEVONagent. When you do a search with that desktop federated search product, it produces an interactive keyword visualization that helps go through the results set. I usually do a screen grab on that graphic.

Another package that may be of interest is from the good folks at ThinkMap, who among other things have created the Visual Thesaurus.

I don't know of something ready-to-go, but when you mention wanting to dig up synonyms and antonyms I think of trying to use the WordNet dataset to help with pulling those out and matching them up.

After that, I'd be curious, too, about visualization options.
